I wanted to post the picture of this Shieldback Katydid to show you the\u00a0color difference between these two katydids. The one shown here\u00a0has a long sword like ovipositor at the rear of its abdomen indicating that it is a female. She uses this as a egg laying tube to place her eggs deep in the soil out of harms way.
