The Giant Centipede is the largest centipede in North America and can be distinguished by the dark coloring at both ends of his body as shown in the picture. This Centipede is larger that the Multicolored Centipede I posted pictures of last week. They can bite or sting so try to avoid them if possible. Unlike most insects that take shelter during the day, these guys can be found day or night. Usually centipedes are found under objects in locations where crickets and cockroaches would find shelter. A good general spray around the home is recommended and helps eliminate both the food source and the centipedes.
